the night was a great success!!!
Thank you to everyone for their incredible support of our first exhibition, with special mention to Alex Moffatt, Neil Mansfield and Michael Witkamp.
All I can say is look out Newcastle, The Islington Exhibition Space is going to get BIGGER and BETTER in 2013!

Bio ~ Neil Mansfield, Footwork
Neil Mansfield is a professional filmmaker with over twenty years experience in film & video production.
He has written and directed two feature films which have screened at numerous international film festivals: FRESH AIR (1999) premiered at the renowned Rotterdam International Film Festival, Netherlands, and was nominated for an AFI Award for Best Editing, in 1999; and, STREETSWEEPER (2007), won Best Film Jury Prize at Anchorage International Film Festival, Alaska USA, in 2008.
Neil’s latest short film, THE OWL IN THE SNOW (2010), was shot on B&W 16mm film in Alaska, in Winter, and premiered at the historic Edinburgh International Film Festival, UK, in 2011.
Neil has directed, shot & edited numerous short films and over thirty music videos on 16mm film, and has shot hundreds of hours of live rock concerts on video & HD: including Live 8 and Wave Aid.
Neil is now making another colour 16mm short film, THE GIRL IN THE SUN (2012), and is developing a number of original feature films.

Ollie and Sticks is OPEN!
After many months, some tears & tantrums, lots of hard work and very late nights we are excited to finally have the doors open at
Ollie and Sticks.

First and foremost, we need to give a big THANK YOU to our beautiful friends, who encouraged, supported and helped us with the Ollie and Sticks journey so we could arrive at our destination.
Lots of hugs and kisses to ~ Jen, Patrick, Elsie, Joe, Anna, Neil and Julienne + so many wonderful words of encouragement from our neighbours in the Islington community.
Most of all, I would like to thank my incredibly talented, inspiring and loving partner Michael and Ollie the "Earl of Islington"(our puppy).
Without Michael's positive and "just do it" attitude the Ollie and Sticks dream would never have come to life in such a perfect way!

Dynamic Life Drawing
Ollie and Sticks is proud to present Dynamic Life Drawing
with Anna Jaaniste.
Commencing 3 July 2012 and running for 8 weeks, Anna's classes focus on the physical and sensual processes of perception and imagination through responsive mark-making.
With live models for inspiration, students will work through a series of explorative and experimental drawing exercises, listening to and responding to intuitive creative impulses.
Be prepared to learn new approaches, let go of expectations, tune in to your sensitivity and enjoy the process, in a supportive and energising environment.
Suitable for beginners or experienced.
Anna Jaaniste is a practicing artist and experienced teacher. She sees art making as an opportunity to explore and enjoy points of connection, movement and meaning in the world.
